I’ve heard of cat bookstores, where felines quietly roam the shelves with you. But this was new. I was at the downtown Barnes and Noble getting what the lady at the register said was her favorite cookie (and she’s tried them all), when I saw this man, and perhaps more notably, his bunny:
There was a portable cage on the chair next to him, padded with grass clippings. This little guy was just sniffing around, either in the man’s arms or cradled in the neck of his sweater. Everyone who passed by him in this quiet little cafe at 9pm gaped for a minute, then smiled at the rest of us who had already noticed. It was the calmest rabbit I’ve ever seen.
